Across the Universe Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hello everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Across the Universe Card:o)

To create this card I was inspired by a song 'Across the Universe' by The Beatles and comic books. :o)

For my card I used stamps from two BEAUTIFUL Jane's Doodles stamp sets: To The Moon and Unicorn.

I stamped the scene on a watercolor paper panel and colored everything in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. First I colored a background, masked images and splattered the background. I removed masks and colored images.

After drying, I glued the panel on a white side folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

Wednesday Goodreads #1

Hi everyone!

I'm starting new series on my blog: Wednesday Goodreads.

On Wednesdays, I'll be sharing books, stories, fables, poems etc. that I'm reading at that moment, I like and would recommend. :o)

I've started year reading Aesop's Fables. Although I've red them a lot in the past, I like to read his fables once in a while. Fun, short stories with a moral, or a lesson to teach. :o)

Aesop
Greek storyteller, well known by his fables

Aesop's Fables: The Ant and The Cricket

During the wintertime, an ant was living off the grain that he had stored up for himself during the summer. The cricket came to the ant and asked him to share some of his grain. The ant said to the cricket, 'And what were you doing all summer long, since you weren't gathering grain to eat?' The cricket replied, 'Because I was busy singing I didn't have time for the harvest.' The ant laughed at the cricket's reply, and hid his heaps of grain deeper in the ground. 'Since you sang like a fool in the summer,' said the ant, 'you better be prepared to dance the winter away!'

This fable depicts lazy, careless people who indulge in foolish pastimes, and therefore lose out.

Ornament Shaped Winter Shaker Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #185)

Hello everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #185, Photo InspirationCreate anything inspired by a photo below.

I was inspired by a beautiful winter frozen scene and created this Ornament Shaped Winter Shaker Card.

To make this card I used gorgeous dies from Create a Smile 'Frosty Fun' kit.

die cut an ornament in a white cardstock paper. I blended sky with Distress Inks and after drying coated it with Clear Wink of Stella. I did same with a hanger.

I used negative part of a die-cut ornament as a stencil. I traced ornament shape twice on the white cardstock paper and cut them out. I used them as a card base.

I glued all parts of the ornament die-cut on the ornament shaped base.

I didn't want to use foam for my shaker card, so I die cut 10 more ornaments in the white cardstock paper and used only frames (rest I left for other projects). I glued 9 frames together and glued them on the ornament. I glued acrylic sheet on a last frame to get a window, filled the card with shaker elements and glued the window on the ornament.

As shaker elements I used snowflake die-cuts and tinny die cut leftovers from my previous projects. :o)

Lastly, I connected the ornament shaker and the ornament shape together with a long fastener and glued the hanger on the top of the ornament. Clear Wink of Stella over the hanger and my shaker card was finished.

List of supplies:
  • Create a Smile die from 'Frosty Fun' kit
  • white cardstock paper

9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin

Hi everyone!

I'm sure most of you heard about Kathy's Racoosin 30 day coloring challenge. If not, here is a brief introduction.

Kathy of The Daily Marker started super fun challenge 30 Day Coloring Challenge in March 2015 and organizes it couple of times a year.

Today a 9th coloring challenge starts. The goal of the challenge is to color something daily even if it's a few minutes. For more information, jump over to Kathy's blog. :o)

I've participated in every challenge since it started. I managed to color every day in 6th and 7th challenge. In other challenges I participated and colored when I had time. :o)

All my blog posts related to 30 Day Coloring Challenges are (and will be in the future) labeled with #thedailymarker30day. I also made previews of my daily coloring for 6th and 7th challenge, because I managed to color every day during those challenges. For others I didn't make previews, as I didn't color every day during challenges. :o)

I'll be joining this challenge and try to color every day at least couple minutes. If, for some reason, I don't manage to color, I'll skip the day. I don't want this fun challenge to be stressful in any way (as nothing should be).

I'll share my daily progress on Instagram. After the challenge ends, I'll share a daily preview here on my blog. I love previews!! LOL :o)

Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy and smile! :o)

Kraft Snowflake Circle Tags / Cards (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

I'm back from holidays. I had an amazing time and so much fun with my family and friends. I'm very relaxed and happy. :o)

On Tuesday, January 9th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made these two Kraft Snowflake Circle Tags/Cards:o)

To create these two tags/cards I used stamps from five Jane's Doodles stamp sets. Snowflakes are from Driving Home For ChristmasWarm WishesWinter Wishes and Winter Fun stamp sets. A sentiment is from Merry Christmas stamp set.

I stamped snowflakes on Kraft paper in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I die cut wonky stitched circles in the stamped Kraft paper and heat embossed in white the sentiment. I die cut two more circles in a white cardstock paper.

I pierced circles, placed baker's twine between two circles and assembled tags/cards with fasteners. :o)
