Bamboo Panda Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

Hi everyone :-D

My second post today and my 200th blog post! :-D

Today it´s my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this Bamboo Panda Card.

Details about my card...

I printed the image on a white cardstock paper. I stretched the image: I draw circles around panda's eyes and lines on a vase. Then I colored the image with colored pencils, fussy cut the image leaving white border around it and added gloss resin to panda's muzzle, on the vase and bamboo, to add dimension to the image and to create glossy accents.

Then I made a panel. I stamped sentiment 'hello' from Jane's Doodles 'Anemone' stamp set on watercoloring paper and colored the panel in Ink smooshing technique for coloring the background. I love this technique!!! :-D I used Stabilo markers, plastic pocket bag, water and bottle sprayer. I added some color on plastic pocket bag, sprayed it with water and smooshed color on the panel. I was adding color by color, couple of layers, drying them between. I don't have heat gun, so I use hairdryer for drying wet papers.

When I was satisfied with colors and pattern, I glued the panel on a white cardstock card base, glued 3-D foams behind the panda image and placed it on the card.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").

Flutter My Heart Card (Crafty Creations Challenges #299)

http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/

Hi everyone :-D

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.

Our theme for this fortnight is #299 - Falling For You. Love cards, autumn/fall theme, autumn/fall colors, falling leaves... Imagination is yours! :-D

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet, with a prize for our random winner: 3 digital images of winner's choice maximum valued 10$.

For this challenge I made a love card in autumnal oranges, using our sponsor's lovely digital image 'Flutter My Heart'. It's this Flutter My Heart Card

I played a bit with digital image on computer and created "sentiment circle" around butterfly. When I was satisfied with the image, I printed it on a white watercoloring paper and filled white spaces with black permanent marker. I left it dry for an hour to prevent any ink smearing while coloring.

I used ink smooshing technique for coloring. I love this technique and results. :-D

This time I didn't smoohed colors on the panel using transparent bag, like I did in my two previous attempts (you can see them here and here). I smeared colors on my glass working surface, sprayed them with water and smooshed the panel directly in colors. I repeated smooshing colors, drying layers in between, until I was satisfied with results. :-D

At the end I sprayed and splattered whole panel with water. For spraying I used sprayer bottle and for splattering fine paint brush. I love how Distress Inks react with water. :-D

I wanted to keep my card simple as possible, so I just glued panel on a white cardstock card base.

Card dimensions are 121 mm x 121 mm (4 3/4" x 4 3/4").

List of supplies:
  • Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet 'Flutter My Heart' digital stamp by Floppy Latte Designs
  • white cardstock paper
  • white watercoloring paper
  • Tim Holtz's Distress Inks
    • Mustard Seed
    • Spiced Marmalade

Reindeer Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #127)

Hi everyone :o)

Yesterday a new challenge started over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog. I'm late posting this one, because we had a storm here two days ago and I don't have Internet access at home. Well that's good, I stamp and color much more. :o)

So, onto our challenge. The theme for this fortnight is #127, Ticket
As always, you can create whatever you want. You can show a ticket on your creation or create a packaging for a ticket you want to give somebody as a gift. Imagination is yours! We can't wait to see what you'll create. :o)

Of course we have a prize for one lucky winner. It's this lovely stamp. :o)

For this challenge I made this Reindeer Card. I'm so satisfied how this one turned out. :o)

Details about my card...

I used Drawn With Character 'Gingerbread Reindeer' free digital stamp. I printed the image on a white watercoloring paper and colored it in watercoloring technique using Distress Inks, water and fine brush and shaded it with grey Stabilo Marker.

After drying, I covered white piece on reindeer's nose and birds beaks with gloss resin to create glossy accents. I also covered snow clusters on reindeer's antlers with acrylic paste. It looks like real snow. :o)

I left paste drying over night.

I printed tickets on a Kraft paper. These tickets are 'Warm Winter Wishes' Christmas Digi Ticket Stamp by Kimberly M. Landmesse, The Beary Scrap, and are free.

Then I glued design paper panel and image panel on a card base. I used Crafter's Companion Neenah Desert Storm Kraft Coloring Card for card base, as well as for tickets.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").

List of supplies:

I hope you'll like my today's card. Hop over to the Fairy Tale Challenge Blog and see gorgeous projects my Design Team Mates made for this challenge. Do join us, we can´t wait to see your projects. :o)

To Autumn With Gratitude Curvy Box

Happy Autumn! :o)

This is my second post today. If you missed first one just scroll down or follow this link

Autumn officially started now (10:20 AM) here in Cavtat. Hot summer days are behind us and our mother Nature is going to treat us with all kind of goodies and gorgeous colors.

As a welcome to Autumn, I made a To Autumn With Gratitude Curvy Box, using my newest Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set I received from Jane this week. Thank you Jane! :o)

Idea for the shape of this box came when I saw Dutch Doobadoo Dutch Box Art A4 Pumpkin. This product is not available in Croatia and I already spent "allowed" amount of money on craft tools and supplies this month, so I made my own template for this type of box.

I drawn template on a piece of grid paper in several dimensions and cut them out. Drawing these templates was a good practice of technical drawing, which I haven't done since I was a teacher of Technical culture in elementary school. :o)

After I made templates, I traced the largest on a piece of brown cardstock paper and smaller on Kraft paper (this is recycled item; Jane wrapped stamps in it) and cut them out.

Then I randomly stamped leaves and acorns from Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set on the Kraft paper. I used Docraft Brown Dye Ink Pad and Tim Holtz's Distress Inks (Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain).

I glued stamped Kraft paper shape on brown cardstock shape, cut slots and punched holes and closed the box.

I made small tag from same papers I used for the box, stamped sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Vintage Photo and punched hole on it. I tied two brown ribbons and tag together with brown string, and tied all together through punched hole on the box.
